Although the San, or Bushmen, of
the South Western Cape have not lived in the area for more than two centuries, they live on in their rock paintings found
throughout the Cedarberg Mountains.
Not only do the paintings tell us about the lives of the San who lived in the
area during prehistoric times, they document the animals, including antelope and elephants,
that roamed the mountains.
Dedicated to and inspired by these paintings, our San Range of ceramics pays tribute to the art
created by the fascinating San people.
Available in all our items, except our round dinner plates, this range carefully
replicates the feel of the Bushman rock paintings. Not an attempt to copy their work, however,
our designs are a stylised, respectful interpretation of the elegant originals.
In keeping with the deep admiration we feel for the San and their paintings, we limit quantities of the
San Range so that it may retain a special sense of exclusivity.
